ABOUT ME

Hello there! I'm Lauren Robinson and I'm happy to connect.

I'm a young learning and development professional that yearns for new opportunities to learn and teach others new concepts.

I started my career as an intern at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (CHKD). In this role, I was able to learn much more about the learning and development industry than I learned in college through application. This opportunity allowed me to see how a machine worked. At CHKD, I was able to see how all of the pieces of talent management continuously work together towards various common goals in their own way. Luckily, I was also able to discover a new passion, Instructional Design. I will admit Instructional Design was not my "first love," but after developing a few courses I became hooked. While I am not an official Instructional Designer at CHKD, I am afforded the opportunity to learn design working closely with a mentor.

Currently, I am working at a full-time capacity with CHKD and blossoming as I learn new things almost every day! On a daily basis, I manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and troubleshoot any issues that any student or administrator may have when using the LMS. I also assist department leaders with determining the training needs for specific populations within the health system. Additionally, I handle the coordination and facilitation of orientation for new employees at CHKD.

In my free time, I try to learn as much as possible and stay on top of new theories and practices within the industry. When I'm not in a webinar learning, I'm usually trying a new restaurant with friends or waiting for Target to tell me what I need in my life.
