At the Core of Manny Ferreirinha leadership – are his fundamental beliefs about people, purpose, service and leading with “heart”:

1. To make a difference

I believe that the greatest act of leadership is be a teacher who embraces all individuals and is humble about making a difference and impacting the lives of thousands of students over a career.

2.  To be an instructional leader of Significance

I believe that a leader must ensure that every child has access to quality teaching and optimum learning experiences. It is about embodying our core purpose - powerful teaching and learning.

3. Lead by example

I believe that leaders must in the educational system make it a point to lead by example, and not simply by words.  This belief and value are of the heart and is effective, and powerful in helping to teach students skills they will need for the rest of their lives.

4. Power of teaching and learning

I believe that perhaps the most important trait of being an educational leader is believing in your students and the power of education. We must believe in our students, our colleagues and parents. t’s vital to fundamentally believe in what our school is trying to accomplish each and every day, and to convey our enthusiasm for change and transformation.  We set the tone. Our authentic and inspiring motivation to make things better is central to everything that we do. Our confidence in all of those around us makes us better as leaders. Our sincere and caring words and actions directly impacts the "spirit" —sand this will show others our passion for education, and ultimately, each and every child.  It's catchy - and others will come to feel it too.

I believe that leaders must in the educational system make it a point to lead by example, and not simply by words.  This belief and value is of the heart and is effective, and powerful in helping to teach students skills they will need for the rest of their lives.

My belief is that leaders must always dedicate their service creating environments that are respectful and accepting of all, collaborative, joy-filled and generative.  Our schools must be places of inspiration and imagination.
