Marie Wehrung is a seasoned talent development professional, certified coach, and CEO of Marie Wehrung Coaching and Consulting LLC, a trusted advisor helping Chief People Officers and other Leaders who want to put an end to employee drama. In her role at Rice University, from which she retired in fall 2022, Marie built the training department, and designed, delivered and ran programs that enabled organizational, team, managerial, and individual success. Through her work with employees at all levels, she enhanced workplace performance, and positively impacted retention and job satisfaction at the university.

Marie has presented hundreds of training and conference sessions to thousands of individuals locally and nationally, in addition to presenting multiple sessions at the ATD International Conference and Exposition, the ATD Houston Conference, the CUPA-HR National Conference, and the Texas Coaches Coalition All Texas Retreat and Conference. She holds an AB in Biological Sciences from Smith College, and an MS in HR Development from Texas A&M University - Central Texas. She’s passionate about applying design thinking to the work she does, and seeing lives change and organizations function more effectively as a result of her consulting and coaching work with them.

A native of New York City, Marie lives in Houston with her husband, has two daughters, and is enjoying her new role as an empty nester.
