Marlo Thomas Watson
ABOUT ME

Marlo Thomas Watson is the President/Chief Engagement Officer of The Marlo Company, Inc. www.themarlocompany.com , a talent and community development firm.  She received her MS in Public Administration from Central Michigan University and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. Marlo has more than 20 years of people & community development experience.    As the Community Relations Manager for the SA, Marlo won the Program of Excellence for the state of VA by American Water Works Association (AWWA), taught more than 2,000 elementary and middle school youth about drinking water treatment and water reclamation, and implemented new programs for high school students to increase their environmental stewardship.  Marlo served as the Program Director for the Black Achievers Program for the YMCA where she connected hundreds of inner-city youth with positive mentors in the business community.  She was the Executive Director for Communities in Schools, in North Georgia, where she worked with the community, local school districts, legislators and the business executives to reduce a 50% dropout rate in a rural sector of the state.  As the Director of Adult and Workforce Education, she worked with a local team and at the state level to increase the literacy and education functioning of teens and adults in Vermont, which resulted in increased G.E.D. attainments and employability skills. Marlo is very passionate about community and it is reflected in her service: Committee of 100 Secretary 2014-2015, and President of Keep Prince William Beautiful.  She is a graduate of Leadership Prince William c/o ’15. Marlo was awarded (one of five) Prince William County’s most influential women for 2016 and runner-up for 2015.
