6 Things Can’t Be Fulfilled By Passion

Published: Saturday, August 4, 2018

During last few years and as a result of increasing the number of motivational speakers and some disappointments happens in middle east , the word (passion) has been thrived , it could be defined : an extreme interest or wish for doing something and it might lead to creativity .

When it comes to passion, motivational speeches create sequential chain starts by passion discovery then enjoy working in passion , after that attracting money from everywhere and eventually joyful , luxury and happiness which shoot all disengaged employees (according to Gallup's 142-country study on the State of the global workplace. 87% of employees are not engaged and actively disengaged while Only 13% of employees worldwide are engaged at work,).

Let me share my personal experience I have successfully shifted my career After 10 years of experience in multiple fields , I hate some , adapted with others and liked few , I shifted my career to a field I’m fond of, furthermore I watched others could shift their careers to their( passion) and based on that I’m going to state 6 things couldn’t be fulfilled by passion :

1-  Passion will not provide you with a meaning in your life .

2-  Passion will not make you think of others and empathize with them .

3-  Passion will not wake you up , you need to set alarm .

4-  Passion doesn’t guarantee happiness or money .

5-  Passion doesn’t guarantee success .

6-  Passion will not transform you life magically and make it better .

Sally Maitlis, a professor of Organizational Behavior and Leadership at University of Oxford, made a study about individuals who work in animal shelters as part of her research on “callings”, the surprise happens when she found out that two groups out of three groups have quitted their work although they considered this job (their calling).

It’s nice to motivate people to help them struggling in life however it will be better not to over-promise certain paths or standardize people because this drives to a lot of wrong decisions and disappointment when the promising path doesn’t become true .
