Learning & Development Principles

I'm developing a list of principles to guide Learning & Development (Capability Development) at my company, regardless of whether the work is done by learning professionals (most are not).  What are some of the principles that you live by in your work as an L&D professional?  Thanks in advance for anything you share!

Hi Amanda,
The one thing I advocate when working with business partners and stakeholders is to "start with the end in mind". In other words, when developing a training solution, it is important to understand what the client wants to accomplish first, then you can work on the training strategy that will achieve that goal.

Good morning Amanda. One of the principles I abide by (and often have to remind myself of) is that the experience is not about me, it's about the learner. Keep the learner or end-user in the forefront of the process. I always have to tell myself that the focal point is the learner; how I feel about the content is important but how the content is received and meets the needs of the learner is critical. Thanks!
