Dear Colleagues in Learning Community,

I would like to start discussion to learn from each other on how can we measure & improve meeting effectiveness in our organizations, given that the workforce resources are becoming more stretched, technology intense & business global dynamics.

Let us share thoughts & practice related to this topic to enrich experience. :)

Good topic. So much time is wasted due to meetings not being handled correctly. I do know a good productivity software would be helpful. My past two companies never used them, and my former company used Excel. What we measured was when the meeting started and and ended. In fact we also noted how late the meeting actually started and ended. Attendance, time planned vs. actual (meaning did we stick to the topics for the meeting or started talking about Football), action items completed.
Agree, improving meeting effectiveness starts from building leaders who enable change

Further, we also included how engaged were the staff at the meetings. But this is such a common problem and in my experience, the only way for us to be successful with improving meetings is to have support from management as they do drive changes.

This is a vitally important topic which currently wastes a vast amount of time and energy - often of those people whose time and energy are most valuable and limited.Meetings are essentially a process, and like all processes their effectiveness can be improved. However process improvement requires data, or we find that any gains are shortlived. As a result we have been focusing on looking at developing an effortless system for measuring meeting effectiveness since we believe this is key.
