Company Wide Needs Assessment

Published: Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Hello,

I am responsible for the training and development at a higher education institution. Every two-years, we conduct an employee learning needs assessment survey with all employees. We typically focus on preferences, value, and learning needs. I am looking for sample items from other organizations that assess employee learning needs. If you have ideas or suggestions for the approach, please feel free to send that my way.

Thank you!

Claudia, my apologies for not being more precise. The word "obstacles is spelled incorrectly.

Great catch, Robert. I will be sure that this is corrected before it is released to the Faculty.

Hi,This is about perceptions relating to obstacles that employees may perceive are taking place in their environment. For example, we have heard from employees wanting a specific type of training. Management may agree and begin offering that one training, then no one shows up. As an L&D practitioner, you know that really any type of training needs a full comprehensive needs analysis to determine if A. there really is a need and B. what obstacles may exist that hinder learning.
