E-Learning Tools for Tech Company?

Published: Tuesday, June 9, 2020

Greetings -

I am Director of T&D for a company (around 115 employees) with a mix of tech (engineering) and non-tech employees. We are currently researching new E-Learning platforms, and I’m wondering if anyone in a similar environment has suggestions? Here are a few things we are hoping to find:

  • Soft skills training (leadership, problem solving, etc)
  • Hard skills training (Microsoft Office Suite etc)
  • Technical Training (AWS, engineering tools, etc)

In addition to the actual learning modules, we need a system that includes some place where employees can test their skills/knowledge (similar to a sandbox environment). We’d love a one-size fits all type of environment, but are open to different platforms for different needs.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

I'm looking for the same thing, but for a 35K+ employee company. I've started looking around and Coursera, Udemy, Skillsoft, and Pluralsight show up in my search. All of them have subscription options for big or small companies. All of them varying amounts of the courses you're looking for. Skillsoft's Percipio has some lab for the technical courses. I know that Coursera and Udemy have some similar options. Good luck.
Thanks! We currently use Udemy. The courses themselves are good, but we find that the tool does not have much in the way of testing skills. There is no good sandbox for employees to try out what they've learned. We're now looking into Coursera and LinkedIn Learning as well.
