Fried Training Talk- ELearning Spring Cleaning?

Published: Friday, April 9, 2021

In a previous position my first assignment was to develop a set of ELearning modules that addressed specific competencies in that industry. There was no needs assessment as creating this training was a regulatory requirement. I put together a detailed plan, and set out to create something that would have a positive impact on that company & the people it served. In the end I created something that was better than serviceable, but not nearly as impactful as I would have liked.

The kicker was that I included in the plan that this particular training needed to be revisited and revised a year later. With a spate of new challenges, requested trainings, & a remarkable turnover rate, you can probably guess what happened to this well intentioned follow up.

Most Learning Developers are aware of the challenges associated with making sure all their information is up to date.

How do you review material you have created to make sure it has not been outdated or procedures have changed?

What is your biggest challenge in keeping any Learning, but particularly ELearning, up to date?
