Fried Training Talk- Motivation by Game

IF YOUR FRIEND/COWORKER PASSES YOU ON A LEADERBOARD DOES THAT MOTIVATE YOU?

As we go through the season of exchanging gifts, even in this year of Covid, the pleasant thought of dominating a family card game, or beating a nephew on-line in a new video or even VR game brings a small smile to my face.

For some friends and family it becomes that phenomena of I’m going to really win this year, but those kinds of games can also become the “I never win, why should I even try syndrome.”

We know from research some learners are very motivated by winning, or being high on a scoreboard, but certainly not all.
