Fried Training Talk- Superstitions

Friday the 13th has always been one of my favorite days.

Needless to say I don’t consider myself a superstitious person. I am the pet human of a black cat, and have stood under ladders multiple times when that was the best way to steady them.

Sometimes I am a little superstitious about my learning design. I don’t want to assign page numbers to anything until I’m sure it is at least ready for review. I don’t like recording audio until multiple people have signed off on the script. I usually input all the wrong answers to an interaction before I do the correct one.

I had one colleague who would not start a new project until cleaning out her desk, because she said it just put her in a better mind space think clearer.

What superstitions do you have that impact your learning design?

I thought about this more on my way home from work yesterday and 1 seemed to stick out to me...I can't stand to see finger prints and smears on the tables or chairs (well before COVID -19). I feel like when people, especially new hires, see them its looks negatively on me and the company. I wipe them down almost daily. Honestly, I do several little things that most likely no one notices but I do so I suppose that it is a bit of superstition.

Does that get you in the right headspace to stand up and give a good instructor led training?
