Fried Training Talk- True Love in Training?

Happy Saint Valentine’s Day all. In much of the world it is a day of romance, hearts, and flowers. On a day meant to celebrate love, let me ask you all:

When did you first fall in love with Learning, and what parts of Learning are you still in love with today?

For me Learning was important even before I became a trainer or a Teacher. When I was a student in High School we had an assignment to give a speech. For personal reasons I chose racial diversity and prejudice as my topic. I had a friend in the class, and I warned him ahead of time that I was going to call him some racially inappropriate names. He nodded, but didn’t really understand. When I started the presentation, even with the warning he almost leapt over his desk at me and the rest of the class almost seemed in shock. The teacher kept him from attacking me, & I sped through the next part.

By the end of my presentation, I could visually see the body language change as my friend and some of the rest of the class had their “AHA moment”. It ignited my desire to help people do things differently and see things differently.

Today I am in Love with appropriate Point of Need training, and well applied micro learning.

What about the rest of you?
