Internal and Client Training

Published: Tuesday, August 20, 2019

Hi there-

Does anyone have any experience with having both Internal (Employee) and External (Client) Training fall within your department?

Or, do you have these two types of trainings within your company split out into different departments?

Any insight would be appreciated!

Ms. Lang, I used to work in a unit that focused on internal training and Performance Support, but occasionally we also trained workers from companies we were partnered with; sometimes with very specific requirements (like training people from a bank on how to recognize specific documents related to Mortgages).

Ms. Lang; I do, in a way. Our manufacturing company recently entered into a partnership with a company which services our products; part of that partnership is us providing support services, including training. The operation is based in a different state, and their employees are located across the country. Is this similar to what you are asking?
Ms. Lang, as we're a small company, I'm responsible for at least the coordination of the training for both entities. We use SME's in-house, and I'm creating a training program for our partner that will start formalizing and incorporating the same. Ultimately, though, it will be my responsibility to make sure each member of that org. is receiving the training they need.

Yes, thank you!
So your team provides training to your employees and to your supplier, correct?
Do you have a dedicated trainer for employee training and a separate dedicated trainer to provide training to your partners?
