Duirng a recent multi-hospital new system implementation training, I sat through 5 days of new software training. The training format was prep work of viewing several brief e-learnings, followed by classroom (8am-5pm with several breaks). Instruction was either "see one, do one" or "follow me" through the various activities. The "follow me" format of instructor explaining, clicking with the class following along was done to save time (there is a very tight time frame to cover all of the material). Practice with a training guide was expected outside of the classroom and instructors were readily available by email.
The educator in me couldn't help but wonder what best practice is for training/learning new software?
