Evolving Trends in Corporate-University Relationships

Sunday, May 6, 2012

Creating successful corporate-university partnerships can pay off in many ways: -More relevant corporate education programs tied to business needs and competencies; -Measurable results; -Research and case-writing opportunities for faculty; -A more robust pipeline for coop students and university placement; -Better visibility and brand profile for corporate partners on campus. But few Universities approach this task in a unified way…or frame their university relations as possible educational opportunities for all involved. An effective corporate-university relationship requires an approach that engages not only university relations and placement staff but allows C-level executives and senior university administrators to interact. It must also encourage cross-departmental cooperation and sharing of information. Presented by two past ASTD Board Members with extensive experience in corporate education from Northeastern University, Harvard Business School and Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, they will share their personal experience across the university spectrum and give examples of some current best practices and trends they see in the future. Discover: What is the key to creating an exemplary partnership? What other factors can help each organization? What are the benefits to each side for creating a real partnership? What are the obstacles to be overcome? What's down the road for building stronger and long-lasting relationships?
