What was the format of your course? Live online

Would you recommend this course to others? If so, why?
I absolutely would! You come to a three-and-a-half-hour online training expecting it to become boring and tiresome, but we were engaged the entire time, and I never felt like I had lost interest. The things I learned and the other facilitators that I met and got to work with really helped energize me to do better for my learners! The class exceeded my expectations!

How do you plan to apply the knowledge and skills acquired from this course in your personal or professional life?
This course really empowered me to think about my learners and engage them using the great tools and techniques that I learned myself. In both my personal and professional life, one key takeaway was from my homework around powerful questions and taking the time to really think about the questions that I ask and embrace the power of a simple question to go deeper and engage people more!

How did you initially become involved in the talent development field?
I came into training the long way. I was a client for more than 20 years and used our products and had to train my own employees on the products. I made the move and came to work for Ticketmaster several years ago on the client support side and was always intrigued by the training role here. When I saw a posting for the position about a year ago, I jumped on it. Now I train new clients on the tools and products that I used when I was in their shoes! I love sharing my knowledge and experiences and love the aha moments. This has been the most rewarding change that I could have made for myself!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Accept and acknowledge your mistakes. We all make them, and as long as you learn from them and do not repeat them, you are a better person because of them.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?
I love photography. When I have my camera in my hand, the rest of my life and worries melt away!

What is the most unusual or unique job you have held?
I have been so lucky to have some great jobs and experiences! My first job was a newspaper carrier, back when kids still walked and hand-delivered your paper. But I have had some GREAT experiences in my career. I worked at a performing arts theatre that opened in 1926, and to be a part of a piece of breathtaking local history was amazing. I also had the privilege of opening two brand-new facilities—a 30,000-seat NHRA drag strip as well as a 75,000-seat NASCAR track. I have gotten to meet and work with some amazing people over the past 28 years in the live-entertainment industry. How many people have that on their resumes?
