During this time of change and uncertainty, we hold onto things in our lives that provide reassurance and stability—things like stable jobs. At ATD, in addition to providing resources for talent development professionals, we have the Job Bank, which shares the latest job openings in the training and development field as well as resources for employers and job seekers.

Let’s face it, finding a new job isn’t easy on a regular day. But in our present reality, with the ongoing shifts to the economy because of the coronavirus, finding a new job can seem like an even bigger challenge. During the month leading up to the outbreak of the virus, the American economy added approximately 273,000 new jobs and cut the unemployment rate to a historically low 3.5 percent. Little did we know of the impending outbreak of the coronavirus and the effect it would have on our current job market. As of April 17, 2020, more than 22 million people have filed unemployment claims. That’s the most claims in U.S. history. Furthermore, we’re seeing more companies moving to remote work so employees won’t have to come into the office.

While jobs are uncertain and companies are re-evaluating and recalibrating hiring procedures, work staff, and growth priorities, this is a unique time for the talent development world. Amid ongoing shifts, the training and talent development world has room for growth. New protocols are being implemented, shifts to teleworking are occurring, and leaders are navigating change management—areas where the talent development field can grow and maximize potential.

ATD’s Job Bank is the premier source to find the best openings in instructional design, e-learning, talent management, organizational development, training and development, and more. Our Job Bank services employees (those looking for new jobs) and employers (those looking to fill open roles). Features and services for job seekers include free resume reviews, interview tips, career expert advice sessions, and other resources; we are also adding a remote location option for individuals to search for jobs that are specifically not in-person at an office. All this and more can be found in the Your Membership section of the Job Bank. For employers, we offer member pricing to post openings at your company, easing the process of finding the right candidate for the role.

ATD’s aim is to service and improve the talent development industry. This includes helping the industry thrive, especially during crucial times. We’re here to help you with the job-seeking process, whether you are looking to fill a role at your company or looking to apply for a new role.
