David Olson has more than 12 years of cybersecurity and program management expertise in both the public and private sectors, with a special emphasis on governance, risk, and compliance. Currently, he serves as chief information security officer at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. He is responsible for the creation of a strategic plan that accounts for the end-to-end life cycle of information security operations, including conducting a gap analysis and assessment of the clinical center information security and technology environment; devising policy and controls to reduce risk; and leading assessment, auditing, and compliance initiatives. Olson also teaches information security and cloud security as an adjunct professor at Frederick Community College.
