Ngan Nguyen
About
Ngan Nguyen is an accomplished healthcare educator, researcher, and consultant with a specialization in experiential learning and programmatic evaluation. She holds a PhD in clinical anatomy from Western University, Canada, and has completed postdoctoral fellowships in electrical and computer engineering as well as healthcare simulation. Ngan is a tenured assistant professor in foundational medical studies and surgery at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Additionally, she is the director of education, evaluation, and research at the Corewell Health Applebaum Simulation Learning Institute. Her credentials include being a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), a Certified ROI Professional (CRP), and a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer.
Ngan’s teaching experience is diverse, encompassing various stages of the educational continuum. This includes direct instruction in health professional and medical school courses, workshop facilitation, and continuing professional education. She is also the co-director of the Applebaum Healthcare Simulation Fellowship, an accredited program established to develop national leaders in simulation-based education, recognized by the American College of Surgeons Accredited Educational Institute.
In her research endeavors, Ngan focuses on healthcare simulation and programmatic evaluation. She has published extensively in educational journals, presented her work at both national and international conferences, and has received multiple awards acknowledging her significant research contributions.
Beyond her teaching and research roles, Ngan is dedicated to guiding the professional development of individuals at various career stages, including graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows.
