Innovation Toolkit: How Might We Use Light From the Bulb Differently

A search on the internet finds many definitions for innovation, but for most people the basic definition is “something new.” In section 7 of Leading the Learning Function , the authors suggest innovation is being curious, challenging assumptions, experiencing creative friction, using associational thinking, and generating ideas. One member posits a simple definition as “. . . the creation and implementation of a new feature, capability, product, or service leading to a positive significant change.” In this toolkit, adapted from the ATD Forum , we'll explore how innovation is not reinventing the light bulb, but "using the light it gives off differently".
