Jennifer Naughton, MEd, CAE, SPHR

President, Naughton Consulting 

Jennifer Naughton is the President and Founder of Naughton Consulting, a firm that specializes in certification, competency modeling, and learning solutions. Jennifer has developed strategic human resource solutions for 100+ clients over the course of her career in both internal and external consulting roles. 

Jennifer has 25+ years of experience in the learning, assessment, and certification industries and is passionate about maximizing talent in the workforce. She has published over a dozen books and articles including the most recent “5 things you need to know about stackable credentials.”  

Prior to Naughton Consulting, Jennifer was the senior director for competencies and credentialing at the Association for Training and Development (ATD). There she launched two international certification programs (APTD and CPLP/CPTD), led two progressive industry competency models, and helped to create the first stacked credentialing framework for the training profession. These deliverables were instrumental in elevating the skills and stature of the training industry and talent development professionals. Prior to ATD, Jennifer was an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton and a Research Scientist at HumRRO focused on human capital projects. 

Jennifer has a Master’s in Education from George Washington University, holds a number of professional certifications, and lives in Arlington, Virginia. She can be reached at [email protected]
