ABOUT ME

Nathaniel Taeho Yu, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor and Instructional Designer at JMU. Prof. Yu possesses expertise in instructional design and technology, teaching pedagogies, competency-based learning, adaptive and personalized learning, Generative AI for education, learning analytics, as well as student satisfaction and learning outcomes.

Prior to joining JMU, Prof. Yu served as an Assistant Professor in Instructional Design and Technology at UVA’s School of Data Science and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. He also held the position of Director at the Korea Competency-Based Education Research Institute in South Korea.

Furthermore, Prof. Yu is recognized internationally as a bestselling author and keynote speaker. His publications include bestsellers such as “Education is Hope in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution” (2017), “Transcripts with No Grades” (2018), and “AI Education Revolution using ChatGPT” (2023). He is currently writing a book entitled “Educational Generative AI for Teaching and Learning,” slated for publication with VA open access.
