Through content, scholarships, and services, ATD provides opportunities geared toward students pursuing master's and doctoral degrees in learning and development-related fields. ATD students include full-time students, working professionals as students, and working professionals studying to transition into the industry.
ATD Student Scholarships
The Association for Talent Development (ATD), offers students the following scholarship opportunities: John Coné Membership Scholarships and an ATD International Conference & Exposition Registration Scholarship. 2024 Scholarships Now Open!
Deadline to apply: November 30, 2023
The ATD Certification Institute (ATD CI) has two certifications. The APTD is for talent development professionals who are in the early part of their careers or whose professional roles and aspirations are focused on the foundational areas of TD.

2024 ATD Student Scholarships


Each year students in a doctoral, graduate, or undergraduate program are encouraged to apply for six available ATD John Coné Student Membership Scholarships and one ATD International Conference & Exposition registration scholarship. Applicants should be current students at the time of submitting the application. There is one online application for all scholarships for a total of seven possible scholarships. The deadline to apply is November 30, 2023 (for 2024 scholarships).

ATD Dissertation Award


The ATD Dissertation Award is given to foster and disseminate research about talent development practices. It is presented to the person who has submitted the best doctoral dissertation for which a degree has been granted between August 1, 2022, and September 30, 2023. The deadline to apply is November 30, 2023 (for 2024 recognition).

From content and tools to activities and projects, we are here to help you tackle today's toughest industry challenges and to develop as talent development professionals.

ATD student membership eligibility requirements:

  • Enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per year (or the equivalent of at least half-time) at an accredited university or college

OR

  • An active ATD chapter student member
