Ask a Trainer Video: Using Video in Learning

Tuesday, October 26, 2021

Creating video has always been one of my favorite parts of being an instructional designer. When used properly, video lets you bring your learning content to life with live-action images, animations, audio, and much more. But with all the technology and equipment needed to create high-quality training videos, doing so can be overwhelming.

For this month’s episode of Ask a Trainer, I invited video expert Matthew Pierce to help me answer your questions about using video in learning. Enjoy!

In this video, Tim Slade and Matthew Pierce answer questions about using video in learning.Questions answered in this video:-“What are some of the must-have tools for getting started with your own video production?” (2:52)-“What are the qualities that make a good instructional video?” (6:13)-“How do you balance production value and cost with engagement and effectiveness when using video in learning?” (10:41)-“What are some of the common mistakes to avoid when developing training videos?” (15:38)Connect with Tim Slade:- Website: elearningacademy.io/- LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/sladetim/- Twitter: twitter.com/sladetimConnect with Matthew Pierce:- LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/matthewrpierce/- Twitter: twitter.com/piercemrInterested in submitting a question for a future video?
