ATD research reports have a cornucopia of new information.

A trio of research reports from the Association for Talent Development are available online and, if you’re attending the conference in person, at the ATD Store. The data is valuable to any TD professional.

Bridging the skills gap

Bridging the Skills Gap: Using Learning Opportunities to Address Current and Future Talent Needs surveys 356 TD professionals who describe the current and future skills gaps organizations face. The research report, which marks the eighth iteration of the skills gap whitepaper ATD has published, is a free resource.

Rocki Basel, ATD’s associate director of research, and Erin Strider, ATD’s manager of awards and recognition, will present the report’s findings in a session, “Bridging the Skills Gap – ATD Research Report Overview,” at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22.

Localizing learning

Localizing Your Learning: How Adapting Your Content Can Make Training More Effective secured more than 300 TD professionals to discuss how they localize training, how it benefits employees, and the challenges they face. Approximately two-thirds of respondents localized their e-learning offerings with strategies such as translating language and phrases.

Making the investment

The third research report, Making the Case for Investing in Talent Development: 6 Case Studies, will also receive the ATD24 treatment. Three of the companies in the report participated in a panel discussion titled “Making the Case to Invest in Talent Development” at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The organizations featured in the report’s case studies represent small, medium, and large companies from various industries, including nonprofit professional membership organizations, retail trade, IT, financial and insurance, transportation and warehousing, and manufacturing.

Looking for feedback

ATD’s member survey is available from May 15 to June 7. Every participating member will receive a discount code for 20 percent off an ATD-published book purchased on ATD’s website. Participating members should look for the discount code in mid-June.

In addition, every ATD24 attendee can participate in the Daily Conference survey, which will arrive in email inboxes at the end of each day. Participants earn a chance to win a free ATD25 conference registration.
