The Global Village at ATD23 features the opportunity to hear sessions in 25 languages.

Executive leadership coach Lolly Daskel writes on her blog, “When we’re open to learning from others, we benefit from their experience as well as our own and we can inherit their wisdom and knowledge.”

When we consider what we’re capable of learning from others within the global community, look to Indeed’s words of advice: “People from different cultural backgrounds are likely to have different perspectives on situations that you might not have considered. This can be helpful when your team is tasked with problem solving.”

ATD’s global presence is continuing to grow. As a result, the association is helping facilitate growth experiences both during ATD23 and globally throughout the year.

On Sunday, May 21, international attendees kicked off the conference with a welcome luncheon and the opportunity to network with others from their homeland as well as other talent development colleagues from around the world. Wei Wang, senior director of ATD Global, presented opening remarks.

Conference programming includes five virtual global panel discussions as well as three in-person global sessions in San Diego. Among the on-demand sessions are “Insights From Africa: Leveraging Learning to Build a Future-Ready Workforce,” during which a panel of experts discuss repositioning and repurposing learning strategies for a modern hybrid working environment.

The “Insights From the Middle East” session explores employee engagement and well-being, and the “Insights From Asia” panel shares expertise on aligning learning with business outcomes. Check the program guide for all the details.

Prefer to listen to those and other sessions in your native language? This year, the International Conference & EXPO offers complimentary translation services via Worldly, which includes more than 25 languages.

Want to learn more about expanding your professional development via an Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) or Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) credential? Aya Medhat, an ATD international facilitator, provides details about certification bootcamp courses offered via ATD’s education partners in Asia and the Middle East. ATD is currently delivering APTD and CPTD programs in China, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Stop by the Global Village for details.

As always, the conference’s Global Village is home away from home for international attendees and anyone who wants to expand their perspectives. This year, the Global Village is sponsored by Door International, Management Drives, and Persona Global. Follow the signage throughout the convention center to locate the Global Village. ATD’s global staff members will be available to answer any questions you may have.

As you’ll see, ATD23 provides a plethora of experiences to inherit wisdom and knowledge from others.
