ATD has many valuable resources available to support your personal career development. From blog posts and publications to webcasts and coaching, we’re working hard to anticipate your needs.
During 2015, we published many great posts on career management and job search topics. To save you time, I’ve included some popular pieces on personal career development topics here:
Best Articles on How to Ace the Interview: In this post from August, I listed some of our best articles on how to handle interviews, and it was one of our most popular posts this year.
4 Ways to Know if You're a High Potential: Carlann Fergusson shares her thoughts on how you can tell if you’re viewed as a “high potential” in your organization.
Frustrated in You Role at Work? Understanding Your Personality Type Can Help: In this post from early 2015, Catherine Rains provides excellent advice on how personality type can affect job satisfaction.
Managing Your Career After Age 40: In this post from May 2015, Marilyn Feldstein shares her advice on how to manage your career after age 40. Look for Marilyn at the ATD International Conference & Exposition in Denver, where she will provide career coaching in our Career Center.
Using a Career Portfolio: Greg Williams shares advice about how to use a career portfolio in this blog post. Written in 2012, this post is still so popular that we have asked Greg to write a new TD at Work issue on the topic. It’s scheduled to come out in April, so keep an eye out for it!
60 Seconds and You're Hired!: Because our articles on interview skills were so popular, we’ve scheduled a webcast on the topic. Don’t miss this session on March 3 with Robin Ryan, author of 60 Seconds and You’re Hired.
Each year, we provide free career coaching in the Career Center at the ATD Conference & Exposition. This year in Denver, we’ll be providing the service again. If you’re going to the conference, be sure to sign up early because the slots fill up quickly.
If you’re not going to be in Denver, take advantage of our monthly Ask-A-Coach Sessions with subject matter experts and career coaches, such as our upcoming webcast with Wendy Terwelp, Career Management for Young Professionals. This members-only session will give you an opportunity to pose questions to Wendy before and during the webcast.
The Career Navigator is an awesome members-only tool that allows you to compare your skills against the ATD Competency Model. If you’ve never used it before, it’s definitely worth the time.
Not a member? You can try out the Career Navigator in the Career Center at the ATD International Conference & Exposition in Denver. Also be on the alert for webcasts with SkillDirector, the vendor who created the Career Navigator for ATD, like this one from last August.
In case you missed it, ATD published a TD at Work Career Management Collection this year that included:
“Keeping Your Career on Track”
“Marketing Your Career Brand”
“Assessing Time, Career & Life Decisions”
