The truth is that there was a time when portfolios were only for those working in a creative field, like graphic design or photography. Then it became standard practice for those working in our industry as freelancers to have portfolios. But today more and more employers are expecting their candidates to come to the table with portfolios to showcase their work and skills.
While a good resume will always be valuable when you’re trying to land your next job, it isn’t sufficient enough to demonstrate your talents. Whether you’re looking to become a freelancer or maintain full-time employment, building and maintaining a portfolio is an easy way to set yourself apart in the job market.
