This photo appeared in the November-December 1956 issue of Journal of the American Society of Training Directors . The "Spiral Analysis Method" was used as a training tool in a "Learning to Listen" course. "Charting interviews in this manner enables the trainer to shwo what happens when one individual interjects his thoughts and ideas into another person's conversation, as well as demonstrate the impact that a reflection of a thought or feeling tone has upon the direction of an interview," Neely D. Gardner wrote in the article.
