Talent development professionals continually seek to improve the experience for their learners. They may begin a new initiative by rolling out a pilot and asking for feedback from participants. At other times, TD practitioners may talk with a learner’s manager and teammates after the training course to see whether the learner achieved the sought-after behavior change and the session hit the spot.

ATD staff, too, strive to improve upon the resources the association offers to its members and the training sessions and conferences it hosts. To that end, this year at ATD26, you’ll see a change in ATD Central as it becomes The ATD Exchange.

After ATD25, conference staff worked to better understand what attendees wanted from the ATD Central space, beginning those efforts with a community needs survey.

What the team learned was that attendees are looking for a hub to find resources for their professional development; have an opportunity for hands-on, interactive activities; and network with others, especially with people from the same industries and with individuals facing the same challenges.

With those needs and wants in mind, ATD staff and its suppliers designed The ATD Exchange to gives attendees access to information on timely TD topics through such vehicles as Ask Me Anything sessions where a subject matter expert will share their insights; peer-to-peer meetups and roundtables; career resources and coaching; and additional materials on key topics. You’ll also still be able to connect with ATD staff for any conference-related or other questions or concerns.
