ATD Store opening reception and book sale

Kick off the International Conference & EXPO by getting a great deal on ATD books as well as books by other conference speakers, research reports, TD at Work guides, and merchandise. Mingle with other conference attendees during the reception, which runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, in West Salon, Level 1. Sponsored by O’Reilly

Note: Keynote speakers Seth Godin and Amy Edmondson will host limited book signings following their sessions. Make sure to buy their books in advance and secure a ticket to the book signing.

The EXPO is open

At the request of conference attendees, the EXPO is opening one day early. Learn about new technologies, potential solutions for talent challenges, and different applications for current tools. Visit the EXPO floor on Sunday, May 18, from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch is from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Enjoy dessert from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Treasure hunt contest begins

Visit each prize partner in the EXPO during the conference for a chance to win. The drawing takes place Tuesday, May 20, at 3:30 p.m., and you must be present to win.

Learning stages

The EXPO will feature exhibitor presentations on learning stages throughout the conference. At the request of previous attendees and exhibitor feedback, ATD will use audiovisual equipment that enables attendees to use their personal devices and headphones to listen to the sessions. Each stage will also use inflatable air walls to help with sound bleed.

Global Village

A special, warm welcome to ATD25 international attendees. The Global Village, a place for anyone interested in international exchange, opens this weekend. Hours are Saturday, May 17 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be open throughout the conference at South Pre-function, Level 3.

International Orientation and luncheon

The ATD International Orientation helps new and returning attendees from outside the US consider conference highlights and network with other international attendees. Previous attendees will share tips. The session will also highlight events and services for international attendees.

The orientation session is on Sunday, May 18 from 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. in Ballroom B.

The luncheon, also on Sunday, takes place from 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in Hall E.

Bark Break

ATD is partnering with Wolf Trap Animal Rescue to bring puppies to attendees for three hours each day. Bark Break, sponsored by Evolve Solutions Group, features a dog mascot in the group’s booth. The company will also have an assessment available for attendees to “unleash their potential.” Sunday, May 18, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the EXPO floor

Brew and steep station

Stop by the EXPO hall to get fresh coffee and hot tea for an energizing boost. This new conference feature, which exists at the request of past attendees, will be available on Sunday, May 18 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Career coaching

International Coaching Federation-credentialed coaches are offering free, 45-minute coaching sessions. Appointments are limited; schedule your session at the Career Center upon arrival or in the conference app to ensure a reservation. Your ICF coach will be your partner on the journey toward identifying, clarifying, and achieving your goals.

Resume reviews

A resume coach is offering free, 15-minute, high-level resume reviews. Appointments are limited; sign up for your resume review session at the Career Center (or in the conference app) to fill out a quick online intake form (including submitting your resume). All career levels are welcome.

Headshot Lounge

A photographer is taking free headshots on a first-come, first-served basis during EXPO hours. The Headshot Lounge on the EXPO floor is hosted by LinkedIn.

Book publishing session

Are you an aspiring author? Do you want to share your expertise and knowledge with the greater talent development community? Are you thinking of writing a book but don’t know where to start or how to get published? Attend this session to find out how to write a good book proposal and learn about the editing and publishing process. ATD publishing staff will address critical topics. Bring your questions and ideas. Sunday, May 18 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the ATD Store, West Salon, Level 1.

Author meet and greets

Stop by the ATD Store to meet authors, have your books signed, and network with fellow conference-goers.
