Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard has rejected Opposition claims that the Federal Government's new workplace laws make it harder for small businesses to employ people.
A total of 4,000 awards have been replaced with 122 awards and 10 national employment standards.
Business groups have raised concerns about employers being confused by the new laws and awards, which came into effect at the start of the year.
