(From BBC News) -- Proposed budget cuts of 28.7m have been outlined by the Employment and Learning Minister, Sir Reg Empey.
Announcing the plans, the minister said that he "would keep economic recovery as his department's top priority".
Sir Reg outlined his revised spending proposals in respect of the NI executive's review of the 2010/11 budget.
The NI's executive's 11 departments have been told to impose combined cuts of almost 400m next year.
Earlier this month, Finance Minister Sammy Wilson outlined plans of how 367m was going to be cut from the NI budget next year.
The Executive's Budget proposals for 2010/11, requires reductions in planned current expenditure of 19.7m and 9m in capital expenditure for the Department for Employment and Learning.
