(From Federal Times) -- A federal task force in September plans to unveil its suggestions on how to better hold poor performers accountable and reward hard workers.
The Employee Performance Management Work Group, made up of top personnel officials, labor leaders and other employee representatives, is holding weekly meetings to discuss ways to improve performance management. Its three subgroups are focusing on:
• Overcoming challenges hindering performance accountability.
• Giving employees clear expectations and constant feedback on performance.
• Improving performance management training.
The subgroups will meet weekly, and the full group will meet every other week, until Sept. 2, when the full group starts preparing its final proposals. The recommendations will be unveiled at the next National Council on Federal Labor-Management Relations meeting Sept. 21.
