Connection to Your Experience

Your experience will support your preparation as you begin to connect your knowledge with concepts illustrated in the APTD Learning System. While the exam links to material in the APTD Learning System, your experience brings context to that material. The workshop provides opportunities to reflect on your understanding, answer practice questions, and participate in exercises that draw out your experiences relevant to success on the APTD exam.

Connection to the Content

The APTD exam aligns with content in the APTD Learning System. To support your success, the Preparing for the APTD: Instructor-Led Workshop facilitates connections to that content. During the workshop, you will use the Participant Guide to document connections to material in the APTD Learning System. The Participant Guide also includes an opportunity to develop your APTD study schedule and personalized study plan. The instructor-led workshop provides numerous opportunities to reflect on connections among APTD exam content, areas of strength, and areas needing more focus.

Connection to Colleagues

The Preparing for the APTD: Instructor-Led Workshop offers a variety of activities to help connect with colleagues. The benefits of joining colleagues include sharing perspectives on the content in the APTD Learning System, exchanging ideas for how to study for the exam, and supporting one another during the workshop and while preparing for the exam.

During the workshop, the emphasis will be on the content (including the location of the material in the APTD Learning System) and not precisely how to study. Keep in mind that the lesson objectives are for “definition” purposes in support of success on the exam related to instructional design, training delivery, and learning technologies with elements of evaluating learning impact and global mindset.
