Donald J. Ford is a training and performance improvement consultant specializing in instructional design and process improvement. He has developed custom classroom, self-study and web-based training, conducted performance and needs analyses, facilitated groups, managed improvement projects, taught courses, and evaluated results.

Don facilitates the ATD Designing Learning Certificate. I recently interviewed Don about the nuts and bolts of the three-day program. For starters Don explains that the program content is focused on the ADDIE model and extensively covers the first three elements: analysis, design, and development. “This program is designed to help relatively new instructional designers learn the science and get a good foundation in the field,” he says.
