Why did you pursue the CPTD?
I don’t have a master’s degree, and I wanted to demonstrate my mastery and experience in the talent development field during my job search.
How have you benefited from the credential—professionally and/or personally?
Professionally, I think it helped me get my current job, as it helped demonstrate my level of expertise in the field.
What advice would you share with others considering certification?
Study with the ATD materials!
How do you think certification helps the talent development field?
It helps distinguish a level of professionalism and expertise.
How did your employer support your pursuit of the credential?
I used professional development reimbursement funds to go towards my pursuit of the credential.
What does having your credential mean to you?
It helps demonstrate my achievement in the talent development field.
How did you get into the talent development field?
I studied learning and organizational change in college, and my first internship was part of a learning and development team.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
As a manager, you should try to train/coach your employees to be able to take your job.
What is a great book you’ve read recently?
The Women
What is your favorite hobby or pastime?
Time outdoors with friends and good food!
