Tavarius Horne
Equity/Social Justice and Training Manager at King County
Seattle, Washington
On his role: I work for the local government. I do talent development there, with an emphasis in equity and social justice. So, I do a lot of training work related to organizational development, social justice, and equity.
On his ATD25 experience: It’s my first [ATD conference] ever. I’ve heard about the conference from a few colleagues. I’m here by myself this year, but actually, I just ran into a few people also from King County here. So, it looks like I’m not by myself. [laughs]
On networking at the conference: A lot of the time in TD and learning, we’re the first people in our roles at places, so I’m looking to make connections with other people so I can expand and figure out what other people are doing at other places and take some of those things back.
On what he’s looking forward to learning at ATD25: I’m looking forward to the sessions around instructional design. I do a lot of training facilitation and instructional design. But specifically, a lot of the identity-related sessions where they talk neurodivergence or things like that are always learnings I try to take back.
