The economy is cyclical in nature, with booms and busts occurring over and over. Right now, we’re looking at a period of belt tightening, which is causing major anxiety for many American workers. According to a recent LinkedIn Workforce Confidence survey, which took data from more than 21,000 professionals from September to December, about 31 percent of workers say they’re concerned their jobs are on the chopping block. However, not everyone is feeling that stress equally. Workers in certain fields are more worried about their job security than others. According to the study, those most concerned are in product management (46 percent concerned), quality assurance (40 percent concerned), marketing (39 percent concerned), finance (37 percent concerned), and information technology (37 percent concerned). Economists think this anxiety could have different effects on the labor market, the primary consequence being a slowdown of the so-called Great Resignation over the coming months.
