Many mergers, joint ventures, acquisitions, and outsourcing partnerships, however, have faltered or have not fulfilled their projected return-on-investment. A major reason for failure can be attributed to cultural factors. Cultural factors are even more relevant in international collaborations, where not only corporate cultures may clash, but also world views, values, and means of dealing with management issues. Respecting these factors often determines a successful international collaboration.
