Keeping workforces competitive is a difficult task. Research shows that 60 percent of employers think that entry-level employees aren’t prepared for their roles. Another study shows that 58 percent of workers need new skills to remain successful as their industries evolve. It’s difficult to train your workforce in-house, especially for a small or medium-sized business with limited resources. Luckily, you don’t have to do it alone. Training partnerships with institutions that can cultivate skills employees need are options many employers don’t explore. But you need to be selective. The right training partner will listen to your needs and help you see around corners to predict what your company will need for short- and long-term success. If the partner has industry practitioners, they will understand what is required in your industry. Also, consider that studies show you’ll get better learning outcomes by varying modalities and methodologies. Select a partner that offers a blend of in-person learning, hands-on training, and on-demand elements.
