Whenever I hear the label “rock star,” I’m reminded of a situation confided to me by a colleague. She was a one-person training department, and the time had come when everyone agreed she needed some help. The company decided to hire a couple of training specialists who would not report to my colleague but to someone in operations. Being the only training person, she was asked to participate in the interview process.
