This has not been a good year for job seekers. Many employers are desperately trying to cut costs, through furloughs, headcount reduction, and hiring freezes. Companies lucky enough to hire during this time face the daunting challenge of remote onboarding. Recruiting and onboarding new employees during a pandemic presents plenty of challenges. How do you build authentic relationships with new hires you have never met in person? How do you help get them get up to speed in a remote environment? How can new employees learn the processes, procedures, and nuances of their new organization? I do not have perfect solutions, but here are a few lessons learned.
