Retaining Talent Through the Great Resignation

Companies across all sectors are feeling the pressure caused by a mass exodus. Employees are leaving in droves, and leaders who haven’t yet had high-level employees leave are bracing for the inevitable. But is turnover a foregone conclusion? There are many ways smart organizations are retaining their top talent even through the upheaval of the Great Resignation. For starters, it’s important that all employees feel valued. Salaries are not the main reason people leave their jobs; they leave because they aren’t respected and listened to. Make sure communication is open and horizontal. It’s also important to pay attention to struggling employees and make sure their skills match up with their tasks. Rather than have them quit, ensure they are on the right team doing the right kind of work. Recognition is also crucial in retaining talent. This can be as formal or as informal as you choose; the point is that culture is built around recognizing employees for their great work.
