The Benefits of VR and AR Training

The great migration from traditional offices to home offices has disrupted numerous aspects of organizational operations, not the least of which is how companies train their employees. The big winner here? Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). With fewer interactions taking place in person, virtual classrooms accessed in digital spaces are on the rise—and pandemic concerns aren’t the only reason. According to a recent study by PricewaterhouseCoopers, employees who take part in virtual reality courses learn soft skills at a rate four times faster than their classroom-bound counterparts. According to many experts, VR training delivery leads to more impactful experiences. The same study revealed VR learners were four times more focused during their training than e-learning colleagues and one and a half times more focused than those in a traditional classroom. By fully occupying the learner's attention and helping them engage with the material on a deeper level, VR and AR promise to be involved in the future of training.
