The Trouble with Tolerance: Moving beyond passive Approaches to Diversity

In much of our corporate life, we accept the term tolerance as a viable ethical underpinning for diversity. We seek diverse workforces by aggressively applying the principle of tolerance in our hiring practices. We aim to create and sustain a culture of tolerance to improve morale, productivity, and fairness. We want to be known within our industries and to the public at large as organizations that carry out the values of tolerance.
