Return to work plans are touch-and-go at best, and many employers are worried about the looming threat of what’s been dubbed the Great Resignation. Simply put, talent is more mobile today than ever before and more motivated to seek out employment opportunities that serve their needs. The old methods of talent acquisition and employee retention are no longer going to be effective, and smart employers are starting to realize that to be competitive in future marketplaces, they’re going to have to get creative. They’re going to have to consider the value proposition of working at their organization as compared to their competitors. In growing numbers, many of these leaders are understanding the value of employee development programs, specifically training. “Instead of looking for ping-pong tables in the office, candidates started pushing harder for learning and growth opportunities,” stated Julie Rieken, CEO of HR platform Trakstar. “Every stage, from the job post to the final interview, should proactively highlight the processes and structures supporting growth and skill-building within the organization.”
