For more than 15 years, I have worked in training and development for child welfare professionals—from pre-service through certification and continued education. The most challenging part of my work is shifting the way that organizations view the success or failure to reach organizational goals or outcomes. Child welfare professionals are busy and they do important work relevant to the safety and well-being of vulnerable children in our communities. Though they do virtuous work, child welfare professionals do not get a pass on learning and development.
