The ability to change with the times is crucial for success in the business world, and that applies to training as well. Today, an increasing number of companies are embracing new technologies to better train their workforces, especially in light of the ever-growing popularity of hybrid and remote teams. One of the ways companies are doing this is through on-demand, skills-based, self-directed learning—even to those outside of the organization. By establishing itself as a source of education in a particular industry, a company can increase its pipeline of talented, qualified people. Immersive technologies are also becoming more popular. Augmented and virtual reality training enhance the most impactful elements of on-the-job training in ways traditional methods cannot, which increases engagement during training and information retention. Re-onboarding is also growing in popularity. Due to the massive sea change in the way business is conducted due to the global health crisis, many organizations are choosing to train their employees as if they’re new at the organization reintroducing them to new practices that grew organically while setting new standards and expectations.
